Hooman was fortunate enough to be instructed in Latin and Ballroom by the inimitable Jenny Rosenfeld. He also completed 3 years full time dance training under Robert Sturrock at Industry Dance in Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary and Ballet. He is currently learning with professional Latin champion, Alarna Donovan and had the honour of learning from Australia’s most recognized and respected dancers, Robert & Helen Ritchey.

A guide to finding the perfect dance class, for your child

<h3>If you find yourself anxious or flighty, it’s a good idea to slow down your breathing and recognise you may have moved out of presence.&nbsp;</h3><h3> Sometimes the nerves creep in when experiencing something new, something familiar but unwanted, or when about to perform. Other times you’re not even sure how they came about.&nbsp;You might even feel “floaty”, like you’re disconnected from your body.&nbsp;Perhaps that internal negative voice may even chirp in some belittling remarks as you find yourself too much in your head.&nbsp;</h3><h3> If you are in danger then remove yourself from that situation immediately and get help. As we grow and learn, it’s important to realise we may not be in imminent danger anymore, but our body has been triggered and is remembering past trauma and uncertainty. The first thing to do is to notice the pattern playing out. It is just this – a pattern, a learnt response, a situation that triggers a series of chain reactions in the body. Begin to notice your breath; it may have become shallow, short, and or sharp.&nbsp;</h3><h3> I like to breathe in slowly and deeply for 4 to 6 counts and audibly sigh out a few times to begin to move the breath deeper into the lungs, and to gain greater awareness with a single point of focus, such as the breath.&nbsp;</h3><h3> Next try a simple even count breath; four counts in through the nostrils, and four counts out.</h3><h3> You can then progress to a box breath. Breathe in for four, then retain the breath for four counts, exhale for four counts, and pause for four counts before inhaling again.&nbsp;Avoid straining and always make sure you can comfortably do the holds without gasping for air. Adjust the count as needed.&nbsp;</h3><h3> You can also breathe in for four counts and out for six counts. This in turn helps switch you from fright and flight mode, calms the nervous system, and lets the body know that it is safe to unwind and relax.&nbsp;The heart rate will most likely slow down as you strengthen this mind body connection.&nbsp;Feel the cool air in the nostrils on the inhale and the warmed air passing through the nostrils on the exhale.</h3><h3>&nbsp;</h3><h3>As you really drop into your body and process the awareness of it through your senses, you help bring yourself back to the present moment.&nbsp;The Now is your power moment from which you can consciously create what happens next. Creating from a more controlled and harmonious state is extremely empowering and puts you back in the driver’s seat. Finding Freedom from Pre-Performance Jitters and Anxiety

<h3>ENPNT would like to welcome Amir Takla, world renowned physiotherapist, to their team.</h3>&nbsp;<h5>Dance can be very demanding on our bodies, making physiotherapy a very important practice in every dancer’s journey.&nbsp;Amir, a master in his field, has gained a wealth of experience in over 25 years as a physiotherapist working with some of the world’s best athletes and performers.&nbsp;</h5><h5>Addressing issues such as physical development, injury prevention, and therapy in the event of an injury, a physiotherapist’s role is to ensure the wellbeing and recovery of their patients.</h5><h5>&nbsp;</h5><h5>Born in Alexandria, Amir completed his physiotherapy training at The University of Melbourne in 1997. After twelve months of clinical practice, he entered the Masters of Physiotherapy (Manipulative Therapy) program through the University of Melbourne. The program focused on advanced clinical reasoning, problem based learning, and manipulative techniques. He then joined Ivanhoe Sports &amp; Physiotherapy Clinic as head physiotherapist.
